Last Friday (19/09/2025), YouthTeamUp had the honor of welcoming Dr. Alireza Mokhtar to Constructor University Campus. His insightful presentation guided students on how to connect their Community Impact Projects (CIPs) to the broader context of climate change and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the lens of systems thinking.
This session formed a key part of our preparation for the Global Impact Projects (GIPs), equipping students with new perspectives to strengthen their project work.
Key Highlights from the Talk
- Climate change affects all domains – from agriculture and health to energy and infrastructure. Systems thinking helps us understand these interconnections
- Every action counts – from daily commuting to food choices, each decision contributes to our individual and collective carbon footprints
- Tools and frameworks exist to measure footprints at individual, organizational, and even large-scale infrastructure levels, essential knowledge for future careers and impactful projects
- Sustainability starts with awareness – and it can begin right on campus with the choices we make each day
We are sincerely grateful to Dr. Alireza Mokhtar for his excellent presentation and to all students who joined both in-person and online.
A special thank you goes to Prof. Dr. Omid Fatahi Valilai and Roshanak Davallou for making this event possible.
